Lagrange, Batiffol, Hyvernat: Où sont les jours d’Issy?

Marie-Joseph Lagrange, Pierre Batiffol and Henri Hyvernat, scholars of the Bible, early Christianity and ancient languages, carried out their research and teaching work in different places: Lagrange in Jerusalem, Batiffol in Toulouse and Paris, Hyvernat in Rome and Washington; but, even so, they were deeply united throughout their lives. What was the circumstance that linked them together forever? The time they spent at the Seminary of Issy-les-Moulineaux. It was during the academic year 1878-1879. One year only. The fact deserves to be highlighted. A few months of priestly formation gave rise to an intimate friendship, later cultivated at a geographical distance, which lasted until the end of their days
