Abstract

The article attempts to present the population issue from Malthus' perspective. Population would reach alarmingly high proportions if there were no brakes. Today, in many contexts, the situation is worrying in the opposite direction. In some areas, population strategies follow postulates that, despite centuries of disavowal, it frames lines of political and ethical action at different levels inspired by the ideas of Malthus.
