Helmantica 2026

With the 2026 volume, we aim to focus on the ancient and modern reception of both authors and literary works and genres. This reception extends to the present day, but we are particularly interested in the splendor of the reception of the classical tradition by Christian humanists of the 15th and 16th centuries, both Spanish (Antonio de Nebrija, Arias Montano, Fray Luis de León, El Brocense, Hernán Núñez el Pinciano, etc.) and foreign (Johannes Reuchlin, Guillaume Budé, Thomas More, Erasmus of Rotterdam, Philipp Melanchthon, among others). With this, we intend for this new phase of the journal to explore something as relevant today as the reception of classical knowledge and humanism in Western history and thought.
