							Abstract

The incarnation is the basis of Christian devotion to saints, specifically in their images and relics. God has become man and that is why the revelation and knowledge of him comes to us in the man Jesus, but much further we continue to relate to him and adore him through his human creatures. Here is the basis of Christian art, of pilgrimage shrines. It appears also a theology of human "divinization" at the end of this approach to God through our brothers the saints. John Damascene's theology shows us this.
