Biblical foundation of the family as a “domestic church”

This article reflects on the institution of the family in creation as God's plan, an earthly reflection of the Trinity, through a biblical foundation. From the teachings of the Old Testament to the models of Christian life presented in the New Testament, it is found that the family is the foundation on which the community of faith is built, making each home a small church, the “Domestic Church”. The biblical foundation is based on the Old Testament focusing basically on the book of Genesis, specifically through the analysis of chapters 1,26-28; 2,16-24. 3,15. As for the New Testament, it starts with an analysis of the Family of Nazareth as a model of the Domestic Church as presented in the Gospel (Luke 1.2 and Matthew 1.2).
Finally, the Domestic Church is approached from the perspective of the Pauline Tradition, which gives great importance to the home/family, which was the basic reality in that society. This reality is evident in four of his important letters: Rom 16:5; 1 Cor 16:19; Col 4:15, Eph 5:21; 6:9 and Phil 1:2
