The Lutheran heresy has a major impact on Europe and it
was precisely the lack of awareness of the strict Catholic doctrine, not only by the Spanish people, but also by the secular clergy
itself which creates the ideal breeding ground for the spreading of
the doctrinal mistake. As opposed, well known preachers such as
Alfonson de Castro aim to instruct the faithful in the rudiments
of the Catholic morals, moreover, eventhough the transmision is
important, it is not as much as the consolidation on the receiver´s
mind. This article tries to describe how the franciscan preacher uses
style as means to impose those ideas considered to be essential on
the mind of his audience.
