Family participation in children's use of the internet and social networks

Abstract

This document provides a conceptual and reflective approach to the way in which parents, guardians, and other members of children's families have participated in accessing and using the internet and social media in the Colombian context over the last decade. This topic is the subject of study because within these dynamics of participation, there are value judgments, gaps, potentialities, myths, and interests that shape how individuals interact with these technological tools. Similarly, it is interesting and pertinent to analyze how the actions of the family environment related to these technologies affect
the coexistence of other family members.
