The hyperintentionality of knowledge in Ernest Sosa's two-level epistemology
Main Article Content
We propose an interpretation of Ernest Sosa's two-level epistemology based on the phenomenon, semantic in principle, of hyperintensionality. We will connect the distinction between an animal level of knowledge and a reflexive level of knowledge to the distinction between hyperintensionality and another phenomenon we will call meta-hyperintensionality.
We will introduce all these concepts precisely. Next, we will analyze some details of the previous connection, and how it continues to be present in the distinction between aptness and full aptness. Finally, we will draw some important conclusions. Particularly, we will explore the metaphysical implications of the hyperintensionality of knowledge.
