About the Journal
Focus and scope
Salmanticensis is the scientific journal of theological research of the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical University of Salamanca. The Faculty has been one of the fundamental references for the study of theology, with ecclesial and social relevance at a national and international level. Numerous theologians from Spain, Latin America, Africa and Europe have studied at this Faculty. In addition, fifteen Spanish and Portuguese theological and religious science institutes are linked to it.
The journal Salmanticensis was founded in 1954 with the aim of transfering theological research and thought. Designed for the academic field, it was created as an organ of the Faculty of Theology, in which its professors disseminated their research and thought. There was also the collaboration of prestigious researchers from other academic institutions. Since the beginning of the 21st century it has been a journal open to all dissemination of quality theological research.
He currently publishes specialized articles on biblical, systematic and practical theology, notes and reviews. An interdisciplinary approach is promoted and attention is paid to issues that are particularly topical.
The periodicity of the magazine is semiannual.
