Salmanticensis uses a peer-review system, following the double-blind method.
Upon receipt of an article, the journal will acknowledge receipt of the article. The Editor will make an initial assessment of the manuscript, evaluating its relevance and quality. It will be verified that it complies with the rules for the submission of originals that are included in the instructions for authors and the required documentation will be checked. If everything is correct, the article will be sent, confidentially and anonymously, to the reviewers, two specialists in the subject under study. They will issue a report on whether or not it should be published, which will be taken into consideration by the Editorial Board, informing the author whether or not it should be published and, if necessary, the necessary modifications. The favorable opinion of both reviewers is a necessary condition for publication. In case of notable divergence between them, the evaluation of a third reviewer will be requested. Within a maximum period of four months, the journal will send the author of the article the final opinion with the reasons for the decision and, if appropriate, other observations made in the review process.
If the article is accepted, the author will receive notification of the reviewers' evaluation reports so that he/she can make, if necessary, the appropriate corrections. The work accepted with the condition that modifications are included, must be corrected and returned by the author within a maximum period of one month, whether minor or major corrections are requested. If necessary, the new version would be sent again to the external reviewers. This procedure would be followed until its final acceptance by Salmanticensis.
