Abstract

From the set of biblical data, which shows de existence of a doctrine based on the relationship of the faith and the sacraments, the article provides some reflections and prospects that help the law and the sacramental pastoral care to overcome the challenge that many situations of inadequacy between faith and sacrament represents. The main issues addressed are: the role of personal faith in the Christian initiation process, the recovery of the ‘sacramental’ character of the catechumenate and the propaedeutic and initiatory value of pre-sacramental celebrations.
