Articles to remember

2024-02-23

Dear subscriber:

From Salmanticensis, we have compiled these two articles that we believe are of special interest because they help deepen a believing understanding of Jesus of Nazareth that considers the importance of history. In a different way, they have contributed to an approach to the topic that overcomes the old contrast between the Jesus of history and the Christ of faith.

The theologian Olegario González de Cardedal delves into the relationship between faith and history to think about Jesus and his significance for humanity. For his part, the biblical scholar and historian Hurtado specifies how an aspect of the history of Israel, such as Davidic messianism, was interpreted from faith in Jesus, using a specific understanding of Psalms 2 and 110.

    - Jesus of Nazareth: between historical criticism and Christian confession. The problem and its meaning, by Olegario González de Cardedal.

    - Early Christological Interpretation of the Messianic Psalms, by Larry W. Hurtado.

We encourage you to read them and we hope that they can help your reflection.

Salmanticensis magazine takes the opportunity to send you a cordial greeting.
