Reflections on the safe return to face-toface classes in a pandemic in Chile

Abstract

To understand the need for a safe return to face-to-face classes in the Chilean school system, after 3 semesters with mostly distance learning, as a result of COVID-19 discovered in Wuhan and belatedly reported to who by China, it is essential to return to face-to-face classes suggested by UNESCO and the World Bank so that students do not continue to lose school learning, social contact with peers which will decrease social-emotional disorders and attrition. To this end, the time periods of the main pandemics in the history of humanity are indicated to understand their duration, the health situation in Chile and the measures suggested by the authorities of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health as de-escalation decreases; for this purpose, alternatives are proposed, depending on the type of establishment.
