The first freinet teachers movement in Asturias Torazo school (council of Cabranes) and «Eco Escolar» newspaper (1934-1940)

Abstract

The asturian magistery during the years of the Republic did not be a barren land as far as educational innovation is concerned, also there the flame was lit. Much is known, for example, about the collaboration centers and the project methods, but nothing about a movement that in this time began with the strength of the newborn: the Freinet techniques. The first movement of the freinetian teachers also had in Asturias teachers that implemented school techniques. It is studied in this work – to be followed by others – to the first of those teachers, it is inquired about his affiliation to the Freinet movement and it is presented to the newspaper «Eco Escolar».
