Abstract
The book Bioethics and biopolitics: Approaches from trans/posthumanism arises from the philosophical concern to locate, interpret and face the challenges posed by the latest neurobiological research in its attempt to understand moral behaviors. The work seeks to locate and provide interpretations in relation to these scientific advances and reflect on their ethical and political implications.
In it, the transition from a bioethical consideration to a biopolitical consideration is philosophically analyzed, interpreted from a unique process called the naturalization of morality and ethics. It questions how the advancement of technology and science are transforming our understanding of biology and human life, as well as to what extent these processes of change affect ethics and politics. In this sense, in the work González R. Arnaiz, professor of Ethics at the Faculty of Philosophy at the Complutense University of Madrid and director of the Research Group: Ethics, Politics and Human Rights in the Technological Society, carries out a mapping of the bioethical and biopolitical discourse as a space for reflection, delving into the current phenomenon of biotechnologies and its development with regard to the analysis of the nature of the political.
