Lorenzo Milani between Christian Faith and School. A Theology of the Education?

The relationship between Christian faith and dedication to the school is very old in the Church and admits different forms and styles: from the charitable work of teaching to those who do not know –especially the poor–, to the cultural and social strengthening of Catholics within a secular and competitive society. LM’s pastoral care at his parish chose the school as an “eighth sacrament”, according to the theology of secularization attributed to him by the author. For him it is important to distinguish two human aspects, to learn and to educate ourselves, that he wanted to merge at school so that whether catholic or not –it does not harm the poor
