Abstract

This paper conjecturally reconstructs the contents of the theses pertaining
to the canon law of marriage defended in the Royal University of San Felipe,
Santiago de Chile, during the years 1758 and 1810, from which, as with the rest of the theses presented in that university during the Spanish colonial period, only the titles have been preserved. To this aim, the law of the time is used, as well as the doctrine of the authors that dealt with the topics addressed in the theses.
