Abstract
The main novelties included in the Motu Proprio Mitis Iudex Dominus Iesus, referred to the sole judge, to the lay judges and to the auditors, are exposed. Legislative, magisterial and doctrinal precedents are analyzed, and it is explained that elements are offered that help in the guarantee of aspects such as the proximity of tribunals to the faithful, the rigor in the treatment of the causes, and an optimization of time and personnel without reduction of legal security.
