Cleryment with minor orders in the crown of casthle through the synodicon hispanum

Abstract

In this work we study the role of ecclesiastics with minor orders in Castilian society under the Middle Age and Renaissance. We analyze the numerical importance of these clerics, the systems of incorporation into ecclesiastical structures, the roles they played in the institutions and the diversity of fields, sometimes modest but other times very relevant, where they were present. We take as a basis the abundant information on the subject of the Synodicon Hispanum and contrast it with other sources of different types.
