Abstract

This is a critical-comparative study, with an approaches on political, legal, protocolary, canonical and ecclesiastical view; it is focus on Christian dualism institution and its role in the West evolution, and its History of liberty & its democratic culture. Veils of confusion are removed, to discover in their original sources, their influence in the transit in the West from the monism of Antiquity to the dualism of the Middle Ages and finally the pluralism of Modernity. Also, there is a balance in the development of Church-State relations in the West, clarifying its singularity about the call for freedom (libertas ecclesiae et legislatio libertatis) and it helps for democratic culture improvement, with its parliamentarism & constitutionalism.
