Abstract

From the end of the sixteenth century, the bishops of Ciudad Rodrigo came to fulfill the canonical duty of presenting a report of the diocese in Rome every five years, although they usually did it through a procurator. The Concordat of 1851 suppressed the Civitatense diocese, and commissioned the bishop of Salamanca as apostolic administrator, until at the end of the century, with Mazarrasa and Riva was appointed an apostolic Administrator of his own, in whose succession, after the aforementioned and Barberá and Boada, came to play Vidal and Bullón, who, present in Rome, delivered a very complete report, and for the first time in accordance with the requirements of the CIC of 1917.
