The diocesan synod Living and current experience in a particular church

Abstract

For historians, a synod is an object of study, but at the time it was history lived by a bishop and his diocesan community. This article is the first-person chronicle of the Synod of Ourense (2016-2020), recounted by Msgr. Lemos Montanet, the bishop who convened him and is presiding over his assemblies. What are the reasons that led him to convene the synod, what its development has been like and what the closure is expected to be, now temporarily suspended because of COVID-19, are the issues that are related in this article.
