2025-11-182025-11-18722419423 Analysis of the theological reception of Merleau-Ponty's thought
https://revistas.upsa.es/index.php/salmanticensis/article/view/1785

In the theological space, Merleau-Ponty's thought has been valued in recent years. There have been some contributions within the Anglo-Saxon space, among which we high- light the Edgar and Simpson’ studies. At the same time, the use of Merleau-Ponty's language and argumentation has been seen in thinkers as Falque or Pagazzi. This study aims to systematize this issue and constitute a contribution to demonstrating Merleau-Ponty's theological relevance.
Júlio

https://revistas.upsa.es/index.php/salmanticensis/article/view/1766

This article aims to reveal the different contributions that numerous authors offered on Patrology under the category of manual in the last quarter of the 19th century and in the first quarter of the following century. The common characteristics that are extracted from them not only allow us to speak of a well-defined school, but also of a valid theological argumentation in them, that made possible the first dissemination and precise definition of Patrology in Spain.
Roberto López Montero

https://revistas.upsa.es/index.php/salmanticensis/article/view/1767

This historical research paper interprets the initial conditions and the institutionalization process of a charitable activity of the Spanish Church in Rome which remained active for centuries. In 1603, the Archconfraternity of the Resurrection, established in 1579 by Gregory XIII, approved new statutes incorporating regulations for the provision of maidens of Rome, primarily Spanish, which were not included in the legislation of 1582. The testamentary bequests of Mari Flores, granted in 1583, and Gerónimo Fonseca, in 1596, initiated a charitable activity that achieved notable development during the Modern Age. Constantino del Castillo´s will, in 1565, established the formal conditions that were adopted by the Archconfraternity after 1583. The standardization of this work facilitated its survival over time and enabled many young Spanish women in Rome to enter marriage or the consecrated life, which harsh socioeconomic conditions prevented them from doing.
José Antonio Calvo Gómez

https://revistas.upsa.es/index.php/salmanticensis/article/view/1768

Radical Orthodoxy Theology develops its views within the theological framework of participation, which unravels an ontological dependence of created things on God. We will argue that this understanding makes relationship amidst diversity possible and exposes individualism taught by secularism as a wrong alternative. This way of understanding participation has a serious implication both in the ordering of the civic society and in informing Christian presence and involvement in public life.
Joseph Cyril Bassey

https://revistas.upsa.es/index.php/salmanticensis/article/view/1769

The Just Energy Transition (JET) is analysed from the perspective of the Catholic Social Teaching (CST), with particular emphasis on Laudato Si' and Laudate Deum. It is argued that a genuine JET must address crucial challenges, such as energy poverty—the lack of access to adequate and affordable energy services—and neo-extractivism, which involves the intensive exploitation of natural resources, including minerals needed for renewable technologies, thereby perpetuating socio-environmental injustices. Based on principles such as human dignity, the common good, solidarity, and the preferential option for the poor, JET must involve the progressive and immediate abandonment of fossil fuels, slowing down production and consumption, protecting the most vulnerable, and engaging local communities. Concrete criteria are provided to achieve a JET, assuming an integral ecological conversion through education, the adoption of sustainable lifestyles, and divestment from fossil fuels and mining
Eduardo Andrés Agosta Scarel
